Both decking and patios allow a beautiful BBQ corner to be built - there is nothing better than to have an outside grill in the summer months and some people even continue to cook outside in the winter months.
If you have a sloping garden or back yard, much of this ground can be wasted - there is not a lot you can usefully do with that space - some ideas to utilize it can be to either build a raised deck or a retaining wall and construct a flat patio space.
A good number patio ideas will include investing in lots of great flowers. Pick up intriguing containers to put on the patio, kinds with color and texture. Next fill the pots with herbs such as basil, mint, oregano and cilantro. A majority of these will add an enjoyable scent as well as produce fresh cuttings for salads and also other dishes. There are lots of vegetables that also do remarkably in containers. Raising the vegetables in baskets also makes them easier to maintain and keep bug free.
If you already use your patio a lot, one of the best patio ideas is a screened in porch look. This will give you the porch that you love, but will also protect you from the sun, the rain, and most importantly, the bugs! This is a great idea for your patio, and can make the space usable year around, which is nice.
2) Create a gathering area. If you have the money, its nice to build a pergola, or even set up a simple outdoor canopy. But if you can't afford that, just gather a bunch of chairs together. Get some chairs that serve as side tables, too, and possibly a little table.
Most of you will want to do some serious barbequing on your patio and some go as far as installing complete outdoor kitchens. Once again, before you spend that kind of money make sure you have all the appropriate permits. Unless you are a serious do-it-yourself type person, you will probably want to consult a professional about making that kind of commitment. You may also want to consider building a grill island and these can become quite expensive.
