There are some many porch ideas available today that no matter what look, feel, or use you want or need, you can design to your hearts content!
Colonial Porch. This style of porch is easy to spot because of their grand towering columns. They are a well beloved porch dating back to the early days of America and have an English flair. You will see them on two story homes and are common on southern style plantation homes. The common décor on these styles of porches is plush and comfortable outdoor seating and simple yet elegant décor.
If you are building a porch onto your home or are remodeling one you currently have, you are being given a great opportunity! This is your chance to really decide what the outside of your home says about the people who live in it. Of course, before you can start decorating or building, you need to get some good ideas.
Another idea would be to paint your pots in complementary colors, like forest green, emerald green and celery green. And yet another idea is to paint a pretty stencil on your pots after you spray paint them in your chosen color. A little imagination and work can go a long way. When you tire of black pots, you could re-paint the pots a pretty golden color for the fall.
Do you remember when a porch was simply a structure on the outside of your home that was there to protect those coming into your house from the weather? How about the time when it was a simple wood or cement foundation, maybe with a few columns or railings, on which you set a rocking chair and watched the world go by? Well, say bye-bye to that. Porches have reached a new frontier.
If the open, exposed porch was not getting enough attention, let's talk about enclosures and all the screened porch ideas that abound in this environment. You will find homeowners including better furniture, pricier décor, higher grade window treatments, and even top-notch lighting. It us almost has if they built a full-fledged addition onto their home (and in some ways, they have).
